My name is Madrone D’Ardenne and I am known as the Puppet Lady here in Santa Cruz, CA. 

Here is a story for you!

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who believed in magic. She colored magical worlds with her crayons. She built magical houses for the fairies in the sandbox. She went on magical treasure hunts in the forest, and she magically talked to the trees.

Many times the little girl was told that magic wasn’t real, and a strange thing happened: slowly she lost her way to the magic inside her. Then the girl grew sad, and she stopped coloring and talking to the trees.

But the magic was always there inside her, just waiting.

The little girl grew and became a woman, and one day something amazing happened for the woman— she saw a puppet show, and all the magic inside her began to come alive again!

She wrote stories and made puppets of her own. She began to share her love of nature, her stories, and the magic inside her through her puppet shows. 

And the woman had a very exciting idea! She wanted to have a tiny house puppet theater that would travel the land, bringing enchanting, nature-inspired stories of wonder, beauty and goodness to all.

That little girl was me, and that woman is me!

I’ll soon be traveling the land in my gypsy vardo, bringing storytelling and puppet magic to all of you, right where you are in your homes and schools.

Tiny House Theater brings puppets and storytelling, creating and crafting, imagination and inspiration. The magic is there,  just waiting for you to discover!
